I only got a small taste of beach life on this trip. Here are a few hours spent at Mermaid Beach swimming and sketching the view of Surfers Paradise (above) and a sketch of Noosa lagoon with only a screw palm, 1 pelican (drawn twice) and some people fishing – quite a contrast to the nearby surf beach with throngs of people and boutique shops!
