Whanganui weekend

Another catch-up post of sketches from last year. This epic view is Whanganui from the top of the Durie Hill elevator, with views reaching as far as Mount Taranaki and Mount Ruapehu in the distance.

Sketched at the end of a great weekend organised by Urban Sketchers Wellington.

The Waimarie steam paddleboard has been paddling up and down the Whanganui River since 1899!

This is Victoria Avenue in Whanganui. In the foreground, left, is a  beautiful 1858 chemist building is home to Inkt – home to a seriously impressive selection of fountain pens and ink as well as lots of other delicious art materials – well worth a visit online here).
