Fairy Falls, Waitakere Ranges

This is the view up Fairy Falls past my kids, through the Mamaku fern, Rimu, flowering Rata vine wrapped Kahikatea to the enormous canopy of Kauri trees on a sunny warm Easter Sunday.

This sketch doesn't really reach the criteria for an urban sketch, but it is accessible within a half hour drive of downtown Auckland and has several panoramic views of the Sky Tower and downtown Auckland – so I think it comes pretty close.

A good sketch venue for using up some of those greens in your water colour palette too...
