Brit & Euro Car Show 2019

What a great turn-out for the Brit & Euro Classic Car day last weekend at Lloyd Ellesmere Park in Pakuranga. I don't think I've ever seen so many classic cars in one place!

There were 2 superb XKs to sketch, I was tempted to draw the genuine XKSS but went for this iconic grille first, so next time maybe.

This is the big 6 cylinder Austin A95 with lots of chrome to draw.

This is the legendary Roycroft Bugatti Jaguar that raced (and sometimes won) major New Zealand motor races in the '50s – not bad for a 1920's car eh.

When delivery of a cutting edge XK Jaguar on order was delayed, rather than miss the 1954 NZ Championship, the little 1991cc Bugatti engine was swapped out for a Jaguar C-type 3442cc engine. Must have been fairly hairy racing around the streets of Dunedin!

Probably the most popular car at the show – an Isetta BMW bubble car. And a mint
Triumph TR2 below. It's good to finally get a TR in the sketchbook...
